Poker Rules

Here we have listed the basic ranking hands in poker. For more specific rules to games like No Limit Texas Holdem and  Pot Limit Holdem go to the bar in the right side of the page!

Best hand

Royal Straight Flush – also know as just Royal Flush

Straight Flush - the higher the better

Four of a kind – the higher the better

Full House (three of a kind and a pair) – Also known as the Boat – The highest three of kind wins if two houses meet then the highest pair counts secondly

Flush – Five cards of the same ‘color’ (meaning diamonds, spades etc.). Highest flush cards wins if there are two flushes

Straight – Five card following each other – Highest straight wins if two straights face each other

Three of a kind – The highest three of a kind wins

Two pairs – Firstly the highest pair wins – if two players both have two pairs with same top pair then the second pair counts

One pair – Highest pair wins

High card – if no one has hit any thing the player with the highest card wins
